A strong opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Contracts Solicitor (4+ PQE) to join a well-established and nationally regarded commercial team.
This role sits at Principal Associate level and offers access to a broad and high-quality workload across multiple sectors, alongside clear progression prospects within a collaborative and growing team.
The Role
You will be joining a busy, multi-office commercial practice advising a diverse client base across both the private and public sectors.
The position will involve managing your own caseload, supporting senior lawyers on larger strategic matters, and playing a key role in delivering commercial, pragmatic advice to clients.
This is a varied role, offering exposure to a wide range of commercial, technology, data protection and intellectual property work, making it particularly attractive for lawyers seeking breadth and long-term career development.
Key Responsibilities
Managing your own portfolio of commercial matters while supporting partners and senior colleagues on complex transactions
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts
Advising clients on day-to-day operational contracts through to large-scale, strategic projects
Delivering commercially focused and practical solutions tailored to client needs
Supervising and supporting junior team members, contributing to their development
Working closely with colleagues across different offices and practice areas on multi-disciplinary projects
Supporting business development initiatives, including pitches, proposals, and thought leadership
Building and maintaining strong client relationships, with a view to becoming a trusted adviser

Due diligence on corporate transactions
Advising on warranties and contractual protections
Drafting supporting documentation such as transitional services agreements

You will act for a wide-ranging client base, including:
Technology and digital businesses
Media and creative sector clients
Retail and consumer brands
Pharmaceutical and life sciences companies
Insurance and financial services organisations
Transport, logistics and manufacturing businesses
Public sector bodies, including healthcare organisations, universities and local authorities
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
A minimum of 4 years’ PQE with strong experience in commercial contracts and related areas
Solid technical grounding across technology, data protection and intellectual property matters
Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, with strong attention to detail
High levels of commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to client advice
The ability to manage matters independently while contributing effectively to larger team projects
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines
Experience (or a genuine interest) in supervising and mentoring junior lawyers
