Legal Jobs In Continental Europe

Europe is home to many major financial centres each with its own distinct legal sector.  Naturally most are dominated by locally qualified lawyers with native language skills and an in-depth knowledge of the country’s law.  These roles are not our area of expertise.

At Origin Legal our team is focused on the international market for English or Common Law qualified lawyers.  In mainland Europe this typically means the UK desks of international law firms, advising clients in that jurisdiction on deals or cases progressing under English (or another Common) law.  They are relatively few in number, but can be wonderfully rewarding, offering outstanding work, a huge amount of responsibility and client contact, and all the attractions of life in a major Continental European city.

Potential locations include Paris, Amsterdam, Luxembourg, Frankfurt, Milan, Madrid, Geneva, and Zurich as well as Brussels, a hotbed for regulatory work.  Roles typically require at least a couple of years’ experience of Corporate, Banking & Finance, Investment Funds, Dispute Resolution (particularly Arbitration), or EU/Competition work gained with an elite level international law firm.  In all likelihood you will also have some relevant language skills or connections to your target market.

Testimonials

City Law Firm

“I have been impressed with the degree of personal service received by Origin Legal. Their approach seems to be to not bother clients unless they have someone suitable or a valid and relevant question to ask, which is appreciated, particularly in the current climate. The consultants are also honest, professional and friendly.”

Private Client

“I have worked with Origin for a couple of years now. I have always appreciated their friendly approach, openness and honesty. I know I will get solid advice that I can trust and that there is no hidden agenda. They really make an effort to connect with their clients and to get to know them. And when you genuinely get on, it is that much easier to work together.”

Flint Bishop

“Flint Bishop have used Origin Legal for a number of years and in particular retained them to deal with several high profile Partner appointments. We have always been delighted with the service that we receive and in particular the consultant’s practical approach coupled with sound commercial advice. I would have no hesitation in recommending Origin Legal to others.”
