Job Description
Dispute Resolution/ Commercial Litigation Lawyer. High-quality work across a wide range of disputes. Nice team, plenty of autonomy and client contact. Guernsey. Low-tax salary.
Offshore moves tend to appeal to lawyers who are looking for something a bit different without taking a step back in their career. This role fits that description perfectly. It is with one of the best offshore law firms so you know the work will be good, and the relatively small team size means that you will get lots of variety, handling the Guernsey law elements of everything from mainstream commercial litigation and shareholder disputes through insolvency, banking litigation and contentious financial services (such as fund or trust disputes). If you are tired of the more rigid structure that can exist in the City, you should find this quite refreshing.
You will be joining a firm that is established among the market leaders and is big enough to attract the best work, but where they retain a more ‘personal’ environment in which people all know each other. The work-life balance really is good for a firm of this quality – they work hard but there is no ‘long-hours’ culture here. Outside of work, Guernsey is great for someone who enjoys a more relaxed pace of life and who fancies living by the coast. It’s a beautiful scenic island, a world apart from London but less than an hour’s flight away.
Requirements
- UK/Commonwealth qualified, probably around two to five years’ pqe (all applicants with suitable skills will be considered).
- High-quality experience in commercial litigation, probably from a City/UK National/International firm.
- No offshore experience required.
