Banking & Finance Associate – Cayman Islands. Banking/ Structured Finance/ DCM focus. Outstanding tax-free salary.
This global offshore law firm is looking for a Banking & Finance Lawyer for a role in its Cayman Islands office. You will be joining an impressive team, many of whom emanate from the world’s elite onshore firms, and you will be exposed to some excellent and varied work. Whilst banking, debt capital markets and structured finance in general form key elements of the practice, you may also get involved in areas such as asset finance, real estate finance or broad corporate finance work.
Advising international clients on the Cayman law elements of major cross-border financings, you will notice that whilst the firm’s role is more ‘niche’ than that onshore, you will handle a greater number and variety of matters, and often enjoy far more personal autonomy and client face time. It is perfect for someone who wants to continue doing the most complex and challenging work but who craves a bit less repetition and a bit more involvement. Joining a leading name in the offshore market, you can rest assured that this is an ideal platform on which to build the next stage of your career and promises good prospects, whether in Cayman or elsewhere in the world.
- UK/ Commonwealth admission.
- 3+ pqe (required for work permit reasons); likely to suit someone in the range of 3-6 years’ pqe.
- Relevant City/ International firm or equivalent banking and finance experience (either general or in a key specialist area such as banking, structured, leverage or funds finance).
- Excellent technical and communication skills with the adaptability to take on a diverse practice.
A pre-eminent global financial centre located just an hour from Miami, Grand Cayman offers you a Caribbean lifestyle with no compromise on quality of work, career progression or earning potential. In the office, you will advise international clients on high-value and complex matters, earning a lucrative tax-free salary. After hours, you live in a place that people spend thousands to visit. You can swim with sea turtles, stingrays or starfish, dive some of the world’s most interesting sites, socialise with friends in one of the many beachfront bars or restaurants, or just relax on the pristine sands of Seven Mile Beach. We would anticipate a salary range of USD140k-US$180k tax-free (equivalent UK gross salary of £180k-£236k) + benefits + relocation.
