Job Description

Fantastic opportunity to join a leading Agricultural & Rural Property team

I’m working with a well-established law firm that has one of the strongest Agricultural and Rural Property practices in the region. Following recent growth, the team is now looking for a Solicitor (0–4+ PQE) to join them and work on a wide range of rural, agricultural, and development transactions.

The Role

You’ll gain exposure to a broad variety of matters, including:

  • Sales and acquisitions of farmland, estates, and rural property
  • Advising on farm tenancies (including succession rights and surrenders)
  • Diversification projects such as renewable energy schemes, biodiversity net gain, carbon offsetting, and agri-environmental incentives
  • Drafting and negotiating wayleaves, easements, and overage provisions
  • Supporting clients with strategic land development and investment work
  • Working with a client base including farmers, landowners, investors, universities, and colleges

This is an opportunity to work on both traditional agricultural property matters and innovative rural projects, alongside some of the most experienced specialists in the field.

About You

You’ll be a qualified Solicitor (0–4+ PQE) with an interest in rural property, agricultural law, or wider real estate. You may already have experience in property work (commercial, residential, or rural), or you may be keen to develop a specialism in this sector.

Key qualities we’re looking for:

  • An interest in working with farmers, landowners, and rural businesses
  • Excellent technical and communication skills
  • Strong client care and the ability to give pragmatic, commercially focused advice
  • A willingness to get involved in business development and networking

Why This Role?

  • High-quality, varied caseload of agricultural, rural, and development work
  • Supportive training and supervision from experienced partners
  • Exposure to clients and projects that are hard to match elsewhere in the region
  • A genuine opportunity to develop a name in this growing and rewarding sector

If you’re a Property Solicitor with an interest in agriculture, or a junior Agricultural Solicitor looking for your next move, I’d be happy to have a confidential conversation.
