Hurricane Irma

Hurricane Irma

Hurricane Irma

For any of our contacts who are interested to see the scale of the impact Hurricane Irma has had on the British Virgin Islands, please take a look at the BBC footage and the pictures from @PaulNBlake and @BBCLBicker on Twitter. I’m sure anyone who has had the pleasure of working with or visiting the BVI will share our distress in seeing such devastation.

Our clients in the BVI legal community have contingency plans for such a situation and posts coming from the law firms make clear that they have already activated procedures for locating, and where appropriate, evacuating staff. Needless to say, our thoughts and best wishes are with all of our friends on the islands and indeed with anyone affected by Irma.

No doubt the BVI will bounce back in time but one look at these pictures will tell you that they are going to need help from the outside world. If you would like to contribute, Virgin is co-ordinating a fund in which 100% of donations, go directly to the community – please click here for details.
