Post-holiday blues or time for a change?

Post-holiday blues or time for a change?

Post-holiday blues or time for a change?

So here we are again, the holidays are over (for those of us with kids in school at least) and we’re back at the desk, staring down the barrel of a four-month stretch through to Christmas. As we reflect on the glimpse of a Mediterranean lifestyle that this long-hot summer has provided, it is easy to understand why September and October tend to be busy months for enquiries into our international team.

As well as whetting the appetite for life in a better climate, a couple of weeks away from the office can provide the head space to actually think about what you want from life. Space that often doesn’t exist amidst the day to day grind of a busy legal career. No doubt some have returned vowing to make a change, but will that resolve outlast the post-holiday blues?

As workloads pick up it is easy to slip back into the status quo, subconsciously parking dreams of a different life to surface again only briefly in late December. But, if the idea of an international move was a good one in mid-August, isn’t it still a good one now?

We are not suggesting for a moment that you should flee the country on the basis of a couple of weeks on the beach in August, but if this is of genuine interest to you, why not seize the moment, drop us a line and find out more.

For some, a little further investigation rules it out, and that in itself can be useful when considering your next step. But if it turns out it is for you, you could be interviewing in the next couple of months and starting your new life as soon as early 2019 - an antidote to post-Christmas blues if ever there was one!
