Layla began her legal recruitment career in the early 1990s, training with one of the North West’s pioneering legal recruitment firms, Peter Manners Partnership. Over the time that followed, she continued to deepen her expertise with two of Manchester’s most respected recruiters — BCL Legal and Sacco Mann — where she gained extensive, hands-on knowledge across a wide range of legal disciplines. Her work has supported clients and candidates throughout the North of England, establishing her as a trusted and highly experienced advisor in the sector.

With a deep understanding of the legal recruitment landscape, Layla specialises in supporting law firms with their key hires — from legal support professionals, including financial analysts, to individuals taking their first steps into the profession as paralegals or trainee solicitors. She is known for her natural ability to guide, reassure and bring clarity to candidates navigating the early stages of their legal careers.

Layla also has significant experience recruiting qualified lawyers at every level, from newly qualified solicitors through to Partners, across Manchester, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Lancashire and Yorkshire. She has been instrumental in numerous high‑profile moves across the region. Her knowledge, integrity and professionalism are frequently highlighted through the many recommendations she receives, reflecting the trust and respect she has earned over the years.

Outside of work, Layla describes herself as a “trying-to-be” runner and a proud, self‑confessed cat lover — even if keeping her mischievous Bengal in check is almost a full-time role of its own. She enjoys hikes in the Lake District and unwinding with a glass of wine, a gin and tonic… or sometimes both.
