Private Client Solicitor – Court of Protection / LPAs

A respected firm in Devon is looking to recruit a Private Client Solicitor with experience or interest in matters relating to care and capacity. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to clients and their families while developing specialist expertise in a supportive environment.
The Role
You will advise on a broad range of private client matters focused on individuals with reduced mental capacity, working closely with vulnerable clients, their families, and professional contacts.
Your work will include:
- Advising on and preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs)
- Handling Court of Protection matters, including Deputyship applications
- Supporting clients with health and welfare decisions
- Advising on care funding and related financial matters
- Drafting advance decisions and related documentation
- Acting for vulnerable adults, attorneys, and deputies
This role offers a meaningful caseload where empathy, attention to detail, and strong client care skills are essential.

The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Solicitor (or equivalent) with experience in LPAs, court of protection and/or other care related matters
- Strong understanding of mental capacity issues and client care considerations
