The Firm

This prestigious international law firm is at the cutting edge of legal and regulatory developments in Web3, with expertise in all facets of offshore law as it relates to digital assets, cryptocurrencies, and fintech. Its team advises founders, companies, and financial institutions on everything from start-up and registration, through funding/finance and all connected corporate matters, whilst ensuring that they remain within rapidly developing regulatory requirements. Located in one of the world’s premier markets for funds and asset management, it also specialises in advising on the use of offshore structures for institutions or UHNW individuals investing in digital assets.

The Role

This is an opportunity to work closely with a highly acclaimed Partner who is recognised as a leader in this field. It is likely to suit someone with 3 to 5 years’ experience in either corporate, commercial, or regulatory spheres, an including some exposure to (and interest in) Web3, Blockchain, Digital Assets, Cryptocurrencies and/or Fintech work. You will be client facing and fully involved from day one, making this the perfect role for a pro-active Associate who wants to fast-track their development in a meritocratic environment which is both ambitious and driven, but also down to earth and culturally relaxed. Taking on a key role in a growing team, the opportunities for progression are excellent.

Requirements

  • Associate level (3 years’ pqe is required as a minimum in order to secure a work permit in the Cayman Islands).
  • Admitted in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada or an equivalent Commonwealth jurisdiction.
  • Some experience of, and an interest in, transactional and regulatory law within the digital assets/ fintech sector.

Salary and application information

  • Interviews are via videoconference and can usually be scheduled to fit around your working day.
  • If successful we would anticipate a start date of 5-6 months from application.

The Cayman Islands

A world-class international financial centre, Grand Cayman offers a quality of work that compares favourably with that in a leading onshore law firm while escaping the trappings of city life.  Outside of work, the climate lends itself to an outdoors lifestyle whether that be diving, sailing, relaxing on the beach or enjoying a bite to eat at a waterfront restaurant.  Life here is good; rarely does anyone regret making the move.  To find out more take a look at the Origin Legal Guide to Living & Working in the Cayman Islands.
