Job Description

Our highly regarded client is currently seeking a Solicitor to join their Family Team based in Surrey.

They are now 450 people strong, including 280 lawyers and 58 Partners, with offices across the South-East and London.

More About the Family Team

This specialist Family Team, along with several individual lawyers, have received recognition in both the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners. We are known for providing a supportive and collaborative service, focusing on achieving the right outcomes for our clients.

They handle high-net-worth and complex matters, with offices in London and across the South. This strategic presence allows them serve clients in the HNW hubs of London and the Home Counties.

The team handles a variety of cases, including:

  • Finance: High-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth financial remedy matters, including trusts, non-marital assets, business structures, pensions, and inherited wealth.
  • Family Agreements: Pre and post-nuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements, and securing “mirror” agreements in other jurisdictions.
  • Non-court Dispute Resolution: The team includes collaboratively trained lawyers and mediators, promoting non-court dispute resolution.
  • Accord Scheme: Launched in October 2022, this scheme allows clients who are not in conflict to instruct the same lawyer for divorce or separation, streamlining the process.
  • Modern Families: Advising on cohabitation agreements, financial remedy applications for cohabitants, and surrogacy matters.
  • Child Abduction: Members of the ICACU panel, handling complex and distressing cases of child abduction with expertise.
  • Private Children Law Disputes: Undertaking complex disputes, always striving for the best outcomes through a constructive and non-confrontational approach.

Day to Day

As a Solicitor, you will support the Partner and Senior Associates on complex, higher-value, and protracted matters, while progressively building your own caseload suitable to your experience level.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional development under the mentorship of highly experienced Partners and Senior Associates. Our close-knit and collaborative team will support you in building your reputation as a leading family lawyer and progressing towards greater responsibility.

What We are looking  for:

  • A qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with experience in Family Law.

  • Willingness to work in a flexible, hybrid environment, with both home and office-based working.

The firm supports hybrid, flexible working and different work patterns, balancing work with personal life. Benefits include 28 days’ annual leave, private medical insurance, income protection, life assurance, a firm-wide bonus scheme, and a generous pension scheme.
