Job Description

Employment Associate – contentious and non-contentious – outstanding career potential – located in Jersey.

This prestigious offshore law firm is looking for an ambitious employment lawyer to join its growing Channel Islands employment practice. This is a great opportunity for an associate who aspires to work with high-level clients (most typically from the banking and financial services sector) and who will relish advising on the full range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.

You will be a good communicator who is excited by the opportunity to really take on some responsibility. You are likely to have around 1 to 3 years’ relevant post-qualification experience gained with a well-regarded commercial law firm, and whilst a City background is not essential, you should be used to the demands of advising high-value employer clients. The firm offers an attractive package and the opportunities for career development are excellent.

The Channel Islands

For a city-based lawyer who thrives on big-ticket work but craves an escape from the rat race, few places compete with the Channel Islands, home to two of the world’s premier offshore financial centres. Jersey and Guernsey have strong and highly competitive legal sectors, housing teams that number many alumni of the leading London or international outfits amongst their ranks. They do complex blue-chip work, in a nice environment without the trappings of a big law firm culture. Work-life balance tends to be good, leaving plenty of time to enjoy what is an enviable coastal lifestyle and London is only an hour away making it easy to get that city fix when (or if) you need it.

Interviews will take place by videoconference with start dates typically three months later, depending on notice period. Our clients provide comprehensive assistance with licenses (where applicable) and relocation, including temporary accommodation on arrival.
