Job Description

Commercial Litigation/Dispute Resolution Lawyer – leading offshore law firm – 5-7 years’ pqe – Cayman Islands

This multi-jurisdictional firm advises on some of the highest-profile and most complex cross-border disputes in the offshore world. Its Cayman office is among the market leaders, fielding an impressive team with expertise in all aspects of commercial, financial services and insolvency disputes. As business goes from strength to strength, it is looking for an experienced Commercial Litigation / Dispute Resolution lawyer with at least 5 years’ relevant pqe from a leading City/equivalent firm.

You will have lots of opportunities to take on responsibility, both in managing cases and in developing client relationships, and all associates are encouraged to play an active part in business development. It is ideal for an ambitious lawyer looking to maintain a fast career trajectory whilst benefitting from a wholly different lifestyle outside of work. Admission in the UK or equivalent Commonwealth jurisdiction (Australia/New Zealand/Canada) is essential for work permit reasons.

The Cayman Islands

A world-class international financial centre, Grand Cayman offers lawyers the opportunity to do high-quality and complex work that compares favourably with that in a leading onshore law firm. Teams tend to be smaller, so responsibility and client contact come as standard, with many ex-pat lawyers citing the unique working environment and culture as a significant advantage. Outside of work, the climate lends itself to an outdoors lifestyle whether that be diving, sailing, relaxing on the beach or enjoying a bite to eat at a waterfront restaurant. Life here is good; rarely does anyone regret making the move.

Interviews will take place by videoconference with start dates typically four to six months later. Our clients provide comprehensive assistance with visas and relocation, including temporary accommodation and car hire on arrival.
