Job Description

Corporate Lawyer / Funds Lawyer – Associate (x2) – Global offshore law firm – Cayman Islands

DESCRIPTION:

The Cayman Islands are a great place to be a funds lawyer.  You will enjoy an exceptionally high-quality of work, advising global clients on some of the largest and most innovative matters in the international funds market.  You will be involved in a wide array of work across the life cycle of a fund and you may well notice a marked increase in the level of involvement and responsibility.  It is a client-facing role and will suit someone who is determined to make an impact and really push their career on to a new level. To aid you in this, the firm has a strong structure which makes clear what the requirements are at each stage and it provides the training and support to help you achieve it.

CRITERIA:

The firm has an established team which it is looking to strengthen with a further two hires at Associate level.  UK/Commonwealth admission is essential for work permit reasons, as is a minimum of 3 years’ pqe.  Relevant City/ International firm or equivalent corporate experience is expected; prior exposure to funds, even if only on an occasional basis, would be great but a lack of this shouldn’t put off a corporate lawyer with a genuine desire to move into this area.

LOCATION:

A pre-eminent global financial centre located just an hour from Miami, Grand Cayman offers you a Caribbean lifestyle with no compromise on quality of work, career progression or earning potential. In the office, you will advise international clients on high-value and complex matters, earning a lucrative tax-free salary. After hours, you live in a place that people spend thousands to visit. You can swim with sea turtles, stingrays or starfish, dive some of the world’s most interesting sites, socialise with friends in one of the many beachfront bars or restaurants, or just relax on the pristine sands of Seven Mile Beach. Check out our attached Cayman Guide for more information.

SALARY:

Dependent on experience – expected range USD140k to USD185k, tax-free, benefits, relocation

DETAILS:

The firm is actively seeking applicants and intends to interview suitable candidates via videoconference.  We anticipate a start date between four and six months from application (depending on your notice period). Speak to Jason Horobin or Charlotte Hooper at Origin Legal.
