Job Description
If you are currently working at a large onshore law firm and thinking there must be more to life, this could be your answer. An enviable lifestyle, a lucrative low-tax salary, and no compromise whatsoever on your quality of work or career ambitions.
Based in one of the world’s premier centres for insurance (not to mention one of its most desirable locations), the Bermuda office of this large offshore law firm is actively seeking a corporate insurance lawyer or a general corporate lawyer who would be interested in developing their experience in this key global market. You can expect to be doing high-value, complex work as part of a friendly team, numbering some of the leading lawyers on the island. Opportunities for progression are excellent.
Bermuda
Bermuda offers you the opportunity to live and work in one of the world’s most desirable locations. The island benefits from a mild year-round climate, never too cold in the winter and rarely too hot in the summer. It is famed for its picture-postcard pink sand beaches and crystal-clear ocean, but it also has plenty of history and boasts all the attractions associated with a luxury holiday destination. And if you should need a break from island life, with regular direct flights to London, New York and other parts of the US, it is particularly well connected.
Process
Interviews will take place by videoconference with start dates typically around 4-6 months later (depending on your notice period). Our clients provide comprehensive assistance with visas and relocation.
Package
Highly competitive salary (expected to be in the range of USD140k-USD190k), low tax-rate. Comprehensive benefits, bonus, and relocation package (flights + temporary accommodation on arrival + expenses allowance).
Requirements
To secure a work permit for Bermuda you will need to be admitted in the UK or an equivalent Commonwealth jurisdiction (such as Australia, New Zealand, Canada or South Africa) and have at least three years’ post-qualification experience. Previous experience of corporate insurance work, or a demonstrable interest in moving into this sector, is essential.
Origin Legal International
Our team has 25 years’ experience of helping lawyers to make international and offshore moves. If you would like to find out more about this role or chat about an overseas move in general, please get in touch.
