That New Zealand offers a wonderful standard of living in a stunning natural environment is well known, but you may be less aware of its status as a “rock star economy” as christened by a senior HSBC economist earlier this year. Out-performing every other OECD nation and showing no signs of levelling off, its law firms are awash with complex and high-value work domestically and across the Asia-Pacific region.

The firms are interested in either NZ returnees or UK lawyers who are serious about building their career in NZ. Opportunities for progression are excellent as the firms grow apace, so there is no need to put Partnership aspirations on hold. Equally, lawyers who are seeking a medium-term commitment before returning to the UK are also encouraged to apply.

In order to be considered you will need a minimum of one years’ relevant PQE from a well-known City/equivalent corporate law firm. General corporate expertise is in demand but more specialist lawyers with niche experience in private equity, funds, capital markets or specific industry sectors are also sought after.
