The latest edition of the Global cost of living comparison report produced by international real estate experts Savills makes for interesting reading. Brexit and the subsequent decline in the value of Sterling has seen London slip from top spot, replaced by New York. However, with an annual estimated cost of living estimate of c$100k, the City remains on a par with Hong Kong and significantly more expensive than Singapore ($61k) and Dubai ($53k).
With salaries in Asia and the Middle East as good (if not better) than in London, tax significantly lower or non-existent, and Sterling hitting its lowest rate in years, has there ever been a better time to be earning SG$ or AED and sending some savings home?
